This research was carried out to study farmer’s income and profit gain fromfarm ordinary chili. The research is conducted at Perean Tengah village, Baturitidistrict, Tanbanan regency. Thirty farmers who done ordinary chili with monoculturesystem was taken randomly as samples.The result of the research show the average large farmbusiness was 0.14hectar with 1,670 kg products each farm (11,929 kg/hectar). While average revennewas Rp 13,999,610.00 each farm (Rp 99,997,214.00/hectar) with the chili price Rp8,383.00/kg. Meanwhile farmer expenditure for each farm was Rp 2,296,350.00 (Rp16,402,500.00/hectar), so farmer’s income and net profit were Rp 12,141,229.00 andRp 11,703,260.00 each farm respectively with Return-Cost-Ratio was 6.10, its meanthat the chili farmbusiness give much benefit to the farmers.

There are many experts who disagree on the meaning of the concept of sustainable development. Nevertheless sustainable agriculture has been known to be one of important factor in realizing sustainable development. It is therefore very relevant to conduct a research in order to measure the sustainability of agricultural development through sustainability index measurement. In this study analyzed thesustainability is using composite index calculation method. Methods of data collection was conducted through interviews using structured questionnaire survey conducted to total of 60 respondent of chili farmers in Bangli Regency. The calculation results of the sustainability index of 30 variables obtained shows that only 1 variables were categorized as “high”, 20 variables were in “medium” categoryand 9 variables were in “low” category. From the results obstained the composite index analysis showed a combined index categorized as “medium” with a value of 0.47.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between service quality on the performance of cooperative administrators. The study was carried out at Koperasi Tani Mertanadi, Plaga Village, Petang Badung Subdistrict, with 60 respondents of simple cooperative members selected randomly. Analysis method using SEM-PLS. The results showed that there was a positive relationship between service and the performance of the cooperative management. The most influential indicator on service is the willingness of employees to understand the needs of members, while for performance variables, the indicator is the ability of supervisors to report the results of the Annual Member Meeting (RAT).

ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to identify the role of Desa Adat Seminyak in managing economics institution in tourism area for example hawkers (pedagang pantai), peddlers (pedagang kaki lima), securities (keamanan), at cetera. This research was conducted in Desa Adat Seminyak in Kuta District, Badung Regency. A number of key knowledgable informan were choosen and data were collected through indepth interview method. The leader of Desa Adat Seminyak I Wayan Mara was one of the informants. The result of research indicate that the role of of Desa Adat Seminyak in managing tourism is very significant. To simplify the leader’s task, Desa Adat community performed a new institution that called BAPEDES (Badan Pembangunan Desa ). They looking for the potential ecomomics resource and maintained security condition as a whole. This one of evidences that the bottom-up development give better result than the top-down development. ABSTRAK Penelitian yang berjudul “Peranan Desa Adat Dalam Pengelolaan Kepariwisataan” bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar keefektipaan desa adat dalam mengelola kepariwisataan di wilayahnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Adat Seminyak, Kecamatan Kuta Kabupaten Badung. Dalam penelitian ini data yang dikumpulkan adalah data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Dalam menggali data dilakukan wawancara mendalam terhadap sejumlah responden kunci yang mengetahui tentang perkembangan desa adat dan pariwisata di daerahnya. Yang dijadikan responden dalam penelitian ini antara lain pengurus desa adat setempat, pedagang pantai, pedagang kaki lima, petugas keamanan, dan sebagainya. Dengan analisis deskriptif, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peranan Desa Adat Seminyak dalam mengelola kepariwisataan menunjukkan hasil yang significant. Ini merupakan salah satu bukti bahwa pembangunan yang bersifat bottom-up lebih baik hasilnya dari pembangunan yang top-down, hal ini karena Desa Adat setempat yang lebih tahu kondisi wilayahnya sendiri. Dalam pengelolaan desa adat ini, Bendesa Adat Seminyak membentuk suatu lembaga yang disebut BAPEDES (Badan Pembangunan Desa) untuk menggali potensi desa terutama potensi ekonomi serta menjaga keamanan dan ketertiban di wilayah tersebut.
